His Lucky Penny (The Penny Books, #1) by L.L. Meyer
TITLE: His Lucky Penny
SERIES: (The Penny Books #1)
AUTHOR: LL Meyer
GENRE: Contemporary Romance
PUBLICATION: March 29th, 2017

After losing his parents as a teenager, Dane has learned to keep things simple. He’s happy with the life he’s built for himself, a life filled with easy girls, good times with his brother, and a job he loves. There’s nothing missing.

Until he meets her.

Lily has learned the hard way that nothing in life is free. And she’s flat-out broke – in every possible way. With her head down, she keeps to the shadows and lets life pass her by. All that matters is putting one more day safely behind her.

Until he’s lifting her chin.

Suddenly, nothing is safe or simple, and soon the walls they’ve been hiding behind begin to crumble. But to what end? Dane is definitely no one’s hero, and Lily is surely no one’s prize. Yet somehow they’re exactly what the other needs.

Just when they think they’ve got it all figured out, Lily’s past comes calling. That one last price life’s been trying to exact from her? It’s about to come due.

You know how at the start of most books, say the first 15% it's all learning about the characters and their stories? Like where they live, what they like and don't and just general info chucked into the story line to help the readers feel more connected to the characters and become familiar. Yeah well this whole book felt like that to me. I just seemed to be waiting for something:

I think the waiting thing was because I got the impression this was a manage. While there was a lot of 'talk' on the subject and the two main male characters have a past of sharing women, it wasn't until the last page yep not shitting you the very last page when the guys asked Lily to be theirs. As you can imagine I was like:

This is sounding like a really negative review I know but I actually really enjoyed it. Yes I was disappointed with it dragging and the lack of the third 'body' but I kept turning the pages. The characters were really easy to like and it had a good plot with some twists amid the drama. I gotta say though that the sex that was in this book was HOT!!!
