TITLE: Taken
SERIES: Dark Legacy Duet #1
AUTHOR: Natasha Knight
GENRE: Dark | Romance
PUBLICATION: October 29th, 2018
I’m one of four Willow daughters.
He’s the first-born son of the Scafoni family. And we have history.

For generations, the Scafoni family have demanded a sacrifice of us. A virgin daughter to atone for sins so old, we don’t even remember what they are anymore.

But when you have as much money as they do, you don’t play by the rules. You make them.

And Sebastian Scafoni makes all the rules.

The moment I saw him, I knew he would choose me. Even though the mark on my sheath declared me unclean. Even though my beautiful sisters stood beside me, offered to him, he still chose me.

He made me his.
And then he set out to break me.

Note: Taken is book one of the Dark Legacy Duet.

Is the first full length novel in the (Dark Legacy Duet) by Natasha Knight. In this we meet Sebastian and Helena.

Being born as a Willow daughter isn’t a privilege it’s a sacrifice. like sacrificial lambs to the slaughter, for many generations the Scafoni family have had the rights to come in and choose a Willow daughter of their liking. One that will be handed down to each of the other brothers once her year is up with the eldest.

On one such event on the quadruplets twenty-first birthdays Helena and her three sisters are paraded on a podium awaiting their demise, Helena didn't think she would be chosen, standing up on the podium amongst her three flawless beautiful sisters, unsullied, and then there's her, the ugly duckling amongst them and a non virgin should've mean't she wouldn't be chosen.

But that's not the case. Sebastian the eldest Scafoni heir wasn't taken in by the beauty radiating off the other three sisters, with Helena he could see a darkness and rebellion burning within her depth which piqued his interest. She's the one he decides on, she's flawed, she's perfectly imperfect, and he knows she will fight him tooth and nail. And that is the kind of challenge he's looking for.

I couldn’t wrap my head around Sebastian, friend or foe? An enigma, born into a family that did despicable things generation after generation. Hot and cold, loving one minute, hard the next.

Helena the ugly Willow duckling with a backbone, she fought tooth and nail not to succumb to her situation she was forced into. Unyielding, a lioness that fought for the rights and wrong doings inflicted on the Willow girls of generations past that were all kidnaped, and raped before her.

I will find some way to end this. I won't condemn my daughters to this fate. My nieces. My granddaughters.

This was so undeniably good!! Dark, but not too dark, gritty enough to keep you racing through the pages, the feels came no matter what. Hooked from the get go, I couldn’t put it down. I'll even forgive the author for throwing me over the cliffy because I know that the second book isn't too far away.

TITLE:Long Live The Beautiful Hearts
SERIES: Beautiful Hearts Duet #2
AUTHOR: Emma Scott
GENRE: Romance
PUBLICATION: October 14th, 2018
Never again would I allow my heart to become the plaything of someone else.
Never again would I let a man (or men) come between me and my goals.
Never again would I love without feeling the fullness of that love in return.
Not until I knew it was real. And if that took me a lifetime to find, so be it.

Those were my vows, and after all that had happened with Connor and Weston, I was determined to keep them. To protect my heart.
And then he came home, and my vows became his promises.

He held my heart in his hands with reverence and care.
He helped me find my soul’s greatest purpose in life.
He loved me with a love so pure and vibrant, I knew I’d never feel anything like it in a hundred lifetimes.
It was real.

Until it wasn’t.
Until it all came crashing down when I discovered the deep love I thought I’d found was nestled in a web of lies—so soft and silken I hadn’t noticed it was there.
Until it was too late.

Long Live the Beautiful Hearts is the emotional, heart-wrenching conclusion to the Beautiful Hearts Duet by bestselling author, Emma Scott, and is inspired by the classic tale, Cyrano de Bergerac. (Roxanne) THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL LOVE TRIANGLE #confusedhearts #notamenage
THIS BOOK IS NOT A STANDALONE. It should not be read without first reading Bring Down the Stars

It was the night before deployment that set their story in motion, We'd broken the boundaries of friendship on the couch that night. Shattered them with wild kisses and grasping hands, as if we were desperate and starving for each other and had been for a long time.

Two best friends (Connor & Weston) soul mates, and the woman they loved (Autumn). One with a bright future who has fought for everything in life, the other born with a silver spoon in his mouth, where things come so much easier for him.

This picks up right where that emotional cliffhanger left off on, we didn’t know what the outcome was going to be, did they survive? How bad were their injuries? All stampeded on release day to one click this and finally we’re given answers to our fearful questions, both these boys have a long road of recovery ahead, one blames himself for the life changing injuries his best friend sustained due to one reckless thoughtless moment whilst in the war zone fighting for their county, fighting to survive, where what occurred changed their lives irrevocably. Will their friendship survive?

For you, I would
bring down the stars,
wreath their fire
around your neck
like diamonds
and watch them
to the beat of your heart.

From this point onwards the story takes us on an emotional journey as one of the boys learns that his life is not going to be the same as it was, we're there when he wakes up and is told the outcome, were there sitting beside him as he struggles to adapt to his new life, a dark tunnel ahead, but such strength shrines through the ever changing lessons he's put through, and love truly does heal.

I have loved you with both
Hands tied behind my back
Bound with pen and ink
Paper and words
Sealed with someone else's name
until this moment
in which I am nothing
but a man
who loves a woman
There is nothing left to say
Except to give
all my heart
for you.

Easiest 5 stars given!! And straight onto my favourite shelf of 2018!! This duet, this book was so godamn beautiful, nothing I say will ever do these books the justice they deserve, I went into this series, loving the author's words from previous books but not knowing that I would come out the other end of this duet completely and utterly blown away by how much these books impacted me, the feels, the angst, the emotions, were to infinity and back..My heart was shattered so many times but chapter by chapter it was put back together again, their story was wrapped up perfectly.

I highly highly recommend this duet. Both books fast became my favourites of 2018 and that is rare even for me!!

TITLE: Legacy of Lies
SERIES: Legacy of Lies #1
AUTHOR: Tara Leigh
GENRE: Romance
PUBLICATION: October 15th, 2018
Money. Status. Wealth. Power.
I believed I was entitled to all of it.
My legacy.

Jolie Chapman.
I thought I was entitled to her, too.
My love.

In a scandal that set our families against each other, I lost.
My legacy. My love.

I was heir to a throne built on lies, my crown forged from corruption.
Stripped of everything I'd been raised to consider my birthright.
Including my princess—who wasn’t mine, after all.

I’ve spent the past decade rebuilding my life, on my own terms.
Money. Status. Wealth. Power.
They’ve been earned.
Now I’ve returned to Manhattan for redemption, too.

Jolie wasn’t supposed to be here.
… And I wasn’t supposed to care.

Screw me once, shame on you. Screw me twice—
Who am I kidding? I don’t believe in second chances anymore.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Is the first book within the ‘Legacy of Lies’ series by Tara Leigh. This is the follow up from the prequel ‘Throne of Lies’ where we’re first introduced to Jolie & Tripp, to understand this it is recommend that you start their story right from the beginning.

Ten years have gone by since Jolie & Tripp clapped eyes on each other, now Jolie is twenty-seven, things haven't been easy for her, and Tripp is nearing thirty, both have well paying jobs, Jolie a world class model jet setting all over Europe and embarking on a new jewelry line, and Tripp puts his past to use investigating fraud, or financial crimes like embezzlement. Now both are in New York again for good. They may not of seen each other but their love even though disguised under so much hurt and betrayal still simmered away in the background.

This was the man who had broken up with me the day after I gave him my virginity.
The day after we confessed our love for each other. An he'd done it with a text message.
A. Fucking. Text.

Their reconnection though unorthodox garnered all the feels, Tripp yet again claiming my heart.
Theirs is not a easy road back to each other though. One kissed reignited all their feelings.

Tripp and I had shared a kiss, a kiss that fused past with present.
A spine-tingling, stomach-flipping, steal-the-oxygen-from-my-lungs-kiss.

But a heartbreaking lie stood between them which could either tether them together forever or it could destroy them in the process.

The only reason why this didn’t get a 5 star rating for me was because it felt like the last chapter as it was wrapping things up felt rushed, before we knew it the ‘Epilogue’ is staring us in the face, since I was in that moment and loving all the nail biting conclusions I wanted to stay in that scene and read about the arrest and the downfall that occurred right after, their adjustment, the struggles. But other than that I really enjoyed this series. Now I’m begging that we get to read her friend Eve’s full heartbreaking story.

But all in all this series.this book, was So GOOD!! All the FEELS!! All the ANGST!! After how things ended in the previous book like others before me I couldn't wait to get my hands on this release day. And that same day I devoured it, couldn't put it down..

In the romantic tradition of The Notebook and Nights in Rodanthe Nicholas Sparks brings us EVERY BREATH which Is a full length, stand alone romance novel.

Like previous novels by this author he has such an uncanny knack of weaving a magic spell over his readers Every Breath is no different, unique in every way, it drew me in as soon as I started reading it.

In this we’re introduced to forty two year old Tru, an unconventional man of many layers, a guide on a game reserve in Zimbabwe where he’d worked for the past ten years. Divorced with one child.

Out of the blue a letter arrives for him, inside are two plane tickets, a later accompanied with an old photograph written and sent by his biological father whom he has never met. Within the letter it is stated that he is dying.

Not long on USA soil and settling into his father's house on the beach he’s returning a dog to his neighbour that had been knocked by a car.

When he first laid eyes on Hope She was beautiful, with untamed auburn hair and eyes the colour of turquoise. Almost at once something inside him began to stir, something that made him feel a bit nervous, the way he always felt in the presence of a beautiful woman.

Thirty six year old Hope is packing up her parents cottage which had just recently sold and is preparing attending her friends wedding without her long term boyfriend by her side, she works as a trauma nurse in the ER and at this stage was unmarried and without children.

As soon as these two clap eyes on each other there is an instant feeling of attraction, a feeling of coming home after a long trip away, as though they have known each other for many years.

A heartbreaking journey that hit all the feels, an unpredictable, unique kind of read. Highly recommend.

TITLE: The Wrong Game
AUTHOR: Kandi Steiner
GENRE: Contemporary Romance | Sports Romance
PUBLICATION: October 18th, 2018
From the bestselling author of A Love Letter to Whiskey and theWhat He Doesn't Know Duet comes an angsty, emotional, and fun sports romance.

Two season tickets.
One genius idea.
Zero interest in a relationship.

The plan is simple: a brand new, hot, preferably funny, definitely single male will fill one of those seats for every Bears game at Soldier Field. And I’ll fill the other.

I can’t think of a better way to use the season passes I’d bought for my ex-husband. I am a woman of plans, and this one’s foolproof.

Until Zach Bowen offers to be my practice round.

He’s infuriating. Presumptuous and overbearing. And absolutely, undeniably gorgeous. Any woman with a heartbeat would be attracted to him, and mine picks up speed every time he speaks.

But as I said, I’m a woman of plans — and I’m not backing down on this one.

One night. One game. And then, his time’s up.

He can try to change the rules, but here’s the truth: he can’t win if he’s playing the wrong game.

Is a full length, stand alone romance novel by Kandi Stenier. Spoken in ‘Dual Perspectives.’ In this we meet Gemma & Zack

Straight away we jump into the 'Prologue' which kick started all the feels, it’s where we’re first introduced to twenty-nine year old Gemma who lives life to plan, a bit OCD when it comes to her lists, but sometimes plans don’t go accordingly and she finds herself alone in the world never wanting to date or get attached to another man again. I didn't want to fall in love. I didn't need a man to survive. Because the one man that was mean't to be her forever turned out to be anything but.

Zack is the hot sexy guy who served Gemma and her best friend when they frequented the bar he bartends at. Over hearing a sniper of their conversation gets him on the fast track of becoming her first guinea pig at a Bears game.

Take a different guy to every game, don't get attached, have fun without having to risk getting hurt.

When Gemma first laid eyes on Zack: His shoulders were broad and rounded, his waist narrow, t-shirt sitting on the belt of his jeans in a way that made my next swallow harder to accomplish. And when my eyes fell to his ass, perfectly rounded in a pair of dark denim jeans that fell in just the right way off his hips..Well. Let's just say I wanted a better look at the front. And the side, And all angles. Maybe I really am ready to get laid

Gemma's rules, one date, one game, no attachments, but what happens when Zack doesn't play by the rules? One date wasn't enough. He wanted more. But trying to get her to break down her walls seemed near on impossible.
The chemistry between these two ripped up the pages, and stole my heart along the way. Zack made the perfect bookboyfriend, with all his swoony moments, sexy moments, agnst moments made for the perfect read on a wet cold Sunday.

TITLE: Trailer Park Heart
AUTHOR: Rachel Higgins
GENRE: Romance
PUBLICATION: October 23rd, 2018
Trailer park born and raised. It’s my legacy. That’s how my mama lived. And that’s how her mama lived. It’s the life I was born into and it’s the life I swore I would leave the second I was old enough to make it out.

Only legacies have a funny way of sneaking up on you. An innocent decision the night of high school graduation led to a series of complications in my plans to escape.

Seven years later, I’ve resigned myself to this small town and the roots I’m tied to. Nothing could make me leave. And nothing could make me spill the secrets that keep me here.

Until he walks back into town with a chip on his shoulder and a stupid hunch nobody else in town has been smart enough to follow.

Levi Cole is my opposite. Born on the right side of the tracks with family money to spare, he’s the kind of black sheep that can afford to be rebellious—because his family will always pay for his mistakes. He’s also the only living heir to Cole Family Farms, after his brother Logan was killed in duty seven years ago.

He sees something in my life that he thinks he has a right to. But he’s wrong. And obnoxious. And he needs to take his stubborn good looks and that intense way he looks at me and go back to wherever it was he came from.

I know better than to trust men like him. I was born and raised in a trailer park, I know nothing good happens to girls like me—girls with trailer park lives and trailer park hearts. Especially from gorgeous, kind, pigheaded men like him.

Is a full length from 'enemies to romance' novel by new to me author Rachel Higgins.

In this we meet Ruby Dawson, the girl who was born on the wrong side of the tracks & Levi Cole, the boy who had it all.

Ruby Dawson seemed like she was on the right track of leaving her small town, Clark City Nebraska behind her for good, it’s her final year at Clark City High School, and the last three months couldn’t come quick enough, graduation night and one rash decision of fulfilling her bucket list

1: Go to a party
2: Do something reckless
3: try and alcoholic beverage
4: Make out with Logan Cole
5: Lose my virginity

Before the chains that tethered her to the town she wanted to turn her back on are cut loose she finds herself in a predicament that she can't get out of.

Her life it seemed was always tangled up with either one of the brothers at one time in her life, Logan was Levi’s older brother, the nicer one of the two, the one she got on really well with, the one that never gave her a hard time, the one she had a secret crush on and at one time she thought she may have even loved him.

Levi was the one that went out of his way to make her life miserable or though it seemed and they had been sworn enemies for eternity.

Seven Years Later: Levi is the only brother left standing and the only living heir to Cole Family Farms, after his brother Logan was killed in duty seven years ago and has been asked to come home to take over the family business. The last person he ever expected to see again was Ruby, having thought she would've left this town behind her in her dust all those years ago.

These two were a hot hot mess, their banter, the two and froing these two were always at loggerheads made for a ping pong kind of read, if they could fight over something, they did. Ruby's character seemed repetitive, always down about the life she was born into, like groundhog day it always seemed on repeat, and I did roll my eyes on more than one occasion, Levi on the other hand garnered all the feels, he wasn't all he seemed, for me he is what made this book, all in all though an enjoyable read. 4 Solid stars from me..
