And Cassie’s older brother, Emmett—a popular Junior A hockey player with a bright future—well … Aria wishes that friendship could lead to something more. If he didn’t already have a girlfriend, maybe it would.
But Aria soon finds herself in a dicey moral predicament that could derail her attempt at a fresh start. It is her loyalty to Cassie and her growing crush on Emmett that leads her to make a risky move, one that earns her a vindictive enemy who is determined to splinter her happy new world.

‘BE THE GIRL’
Is a full length, standalone ‘romance’ novel by author ‘K.A. Tucker’

A heartbreaking tale of redemption. Aria will be starting her new school in grade eleven, a school where she doesn’t know a soul, no one knows her or what horrors she’s left behind.

A new identity, a new beginning, A new start. Finally a time to leave all her memories buried in the past.

They arrive in a town called Eastmonte where she and her mother will be living with her eighty year old uncle, she can become someone else. Where she strives to become someone better.

It doesn’t take long for the neighbours next door to introduce themselves, Cassie whom has autism, and her gorgeous brother Emmett who is in grade twelve. One of the popular hockey players at the school who has a bright successful future ahead of him.

As we watch Aria as the new girl navigating her new life, you can’t help but applaud her maturity as she tries not to stoop to the bullying that occurs around her even though we see her inwardly struggling when she finds herself in a similar situation that changed her life forever back at her old high school.

I think Carrie had a positive impact on Ari, seeing how she was getting bullied maybe was the catalyst to making her own her past mistakes, it was liberating seeing the change occur in Aria, she turned a negative into a positive.

There were so many positives I can take from this book, so many heartfelt moments, so many feels when it came to Cassie’s family and how they dealt with an autistic teenager. I loved Cassie, her highs and lows, her way of thinking. Her happy disposition.

I applaud K.A. Tucker for taking on this sensitive subject, she did true justice to the ugly side of bullying, she tackled this beautifully.

My Review

It's difficult to always strive for for perfection and then accept that sometimes perfection isn't what we'd originally thought it was. Sometimes perfection is what we didn't see. What we didn't know, perfection is the fallback.

’THE FALLBACK’
Is a full length ‘romance’ novel by author ‘Mariah Dietz’

Twenty nine year old Brooke Jensen is one of the most sought after wedding planners in Chicago, everything is planned down to every minute detail, from the venue, to the flowers, to the menu, ensuring that everything is perfect for the bride to be. arriving home from work early the last thing she didn't plan on seeing was her long time partner entertaining someone else in the bed they brought together, on the expensive sheet set they got for their anniversary, in that very moment being a couple was dwindled down to her becoming newly single.

Not one to dwell on shit she can't fix she moves in with her best friend, her husband and their two kids. It's not the perfect set up, but it is what it is and she makes the most of it.

In the mean time she gets the idea to start up a blog called 'Tales of Being Single' about trying new things and taking risks.

Now we see her making her way as not a couple of six years but as a single successful female who is well over her head when it comes to the dating scene.

She's not ready to put herself up on the singles market just yet, but when cupid lets that arrow go and it pierces Levi all bets are off. It's as though they have known each other their whole lives, everything just slotted into place, until an obstacle comes rearing its head and she can't see a way around it, Levi takes it up a notch, he knows what he wants and he wants Brooke.

This was such an easy book to get lost in, the banter between the two besties made for such a light hearted read, so beautifully written, I'm glad that the cheating from her partner didn't over ride this book, we had no connection to him whatsoever it was solely based on her finding herself and I loved that, I loved seeing her progress, her strength, her blog. I'm so glad I got an opportunity to read this.

* Even though cheating occurred in the very first pages of this book you don't have a chance to connect with his (Brooke's ex's) character so this book is semi safe *

ARC REVIEW ➽ THE CONSEQUENCE OF FALLING BY CLAIRE CONTRERAS

TITLE: The Consequence of falling
AUTHOR: Claire Contreras
GENRE: Romance
PUBLICATION: January 13th, 2019

Synopsis

The list of things I hate is short. Not even my soon-to-be ex-husband is on that list. Nope. I save only the worst of the worst, the crème de la crème, the absolute I cannot even for this list . . .

1. Black coffee
2. Rude people
3. Nathaniel Bradley

Which is why when my father informs me that he’s making Nathaniel Bradley his new business partner, and in turn, my boss, I flip out.

1. He’s an annoying know-it-all.
2. He calls me a spoiled princess every chance he gets.
3. He disapproves of everything I do.

I go into this knowing I’ll hate every second in his presence. Except the longer he’s around, the more I find myself staring at his lips and remembering the one time they were on mine. I randomly find myself looking at his hands and wondering how they’d feel on my skin.
I try to snap out of it, but I guess I’m not as smart as I thought I was. No matter how many times I remind myself of the times I’ve practically thrown myself at him and he’s pushed me away, I keep falling little by little.

I’d always heard that it was a bad idea to mix business with pleasure and if that’s the case, this thing with Nathaniel has demise written all over it.

My Review

The thing about falling was that it didn't happen the way everyone imagined it. Sometimes it happened slowly, over time, and other times you find yourself sitting there waiting for the other person to catch up

’THE CONSEQUENCE OF FALLING’

Is a full length ‘romance’ novel by author ‘Claire Contreras’ Spoken in Dual POV's

The day fifteen year old high schooler Presley receives the news that her beloved parents are getting separated is also the day when she first meets eighteen year old Nathaniel. She’s expecting one of her parents to pick her up outside the school in the pouring rain sulking over the circumstances life has thrown her, but in their place is Nathaniel. Who unbeknownst to her has worked for her father for years. And her father's favourite pet as she called him was currently putting himself through business school in NYU.

They don’t get off on the right foot, she thinks he’s kidnapping her and he thinks she’s got a screw loose.

"Are you seeing a therapist? Because you should. You jump to crazy conclusions about perfectly normal situations."

As the years go by they run into each other off and on and even then with many years gap between when they see each other their banter is still in the forefront of each casual meeting.

Fast forward when a few more years are behind them, with Presley licking her wounds over a failed marriage she's ready to jump head first into her fathers company but it's a shock to her core when her father announces that Nathaniel will be his new business parter, penning him as her new boss, old insecurities rear it's ugly head I always felt less than him in my father's eyes as she struggles to find her place in the male dominant world.

Presley and Nathaniel have always had a love hate kind of friendship, We butted heads on everything under the sun she always felt as though her father preferred him over her so a lot of emotional word vomit ensues. Working together as a unit their bond becomes stronger, the sexual tension simmers away in the background until they can't fight it any longer.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Timing really was everything

This wasn't a bad read, I really enjoyed it, the only thing that grated on my nerves after a bit was the heroine Presley, Nathaniel had her pegged as a princess from the get go and he was right on the money. But in saying that towards the end we saw her coming into her own, and that's when I started really connecting with her character. I loved Nathaniel, a man driven to make himself better working himself from the ground up, making a name for himself but when it came to Presley he knew which buttons to press to get her worked up and I enjoyed their banter.

A few life lessons, an emotional journey of losing a loved one but finding love where she least expected it.

I didn't listen, and now I'm on their radar.

They expect me to play along in their games of hierarchy, to fall in line in the social order they've deemed me fit.

Too bad for them, I don't follow rules.

And I'm the girl who got in their way.

’BOYS OF BRAYSHAW HIGH’
Is a full length ‘New Adult’ novel by new to me author ‘Meagan Brandy’ and is book#1 in her ‘Brayshaw High’ Series.

Seventeen year old Raven or Rae as she likes to be called is a tough, sassy mouthed, feisty, free spirited, fist fighting tough heroine. She’s been handed a shitastic life with a mother that could give two shits about her. She maybe tough but she is one of the most likeable heroines to date, I loved her character. Raised in a trailer part with a hooker for a mother, Rae has street smarts down pat. I'm the daughter of a whore, dirty by default. Guilty by association With a take no shit attitude she gives back what is dished out, hence the reason why she has been expelled and removed from her third highschool in eighteen months,

and placed in a group home 'The Bray House' a girls only home for troubled teens Who am I? Just the latest trash dropped on a rickety doorstep with not a soul's back to lean against. Forever the unwanted outsider, something I've always told myself I was okay with. and where she now attends Brayshaw high that is run with an iron fist with boys you don’t want to cross. These are The Kings of Brayshaw High. Captain, Royce and Maddoc. Guys you do not want to mess with.

They're the big deal around here, and not just at the school. You either kneel at their feet or get stomped under them.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

They move together like a well oiled machine. They're connected on a deeper level than what outsiders eyes can see, they seem to know what the other is thinking. This must be a part of why they're loved and feared. Or secretly hated, but respected nonetheless. Because in the company of others they work as one.

I kind of signed up for this one on a whim, didn’t know what I was getting myself into, was I nervous, hell to the yes, I always am when I start a book by a new author to me, but omg this book guys, you need to read it, seriously this author went from an unknown, to getting put on my gps author stalker route on facebook, to this book right here becoming my first favourite book for 2019!!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The sexual tension between Maddoc and Raven was off the charts hot, I loved the build up, the pages just sizzled with the frustration. When they finally connected my heart was full. I loved these two, their banter, his alpha all in her face attitude, god he had my heart from the get go.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I don't even have the words to convey how much I freaking LOVED this book, all the feels in the world, the stabby angst 🔪🔪 the high school a-holes, teenage drama, god this book was so so good!! Like seriously come release day, stop what your'e doing, throw a sicky do what ever you need to do to one click this and read it. I highly recommend this book. These characters need to be in your life, you won't regret it!!

'The Boys of Brayshaw High' was a pull at your heartstrings kind of book. I absolutely loved it. Every page pulled me in deeper and deeper. The characters were intricate and real. It had everything a romance reader could ask for. I for one can not wait to see what the next books bring us.

My Review

“You look like a fucking ghost. You're hair’s all white and shit, with you pale ass skin, and you’re so tiny, you’re like barely even there.”

'TRACES OF HER'

Is a full length dark romance novel by new to me author C.M. Radcliff. Traces of Her is Griffin & Rowena story. Spoken in Dual POV's.

We're first introduced to a ten year old Rowena who witnessed her best friend get tragically killed, this tragic accident was the catalyst that set the whole ball rolling. A year goes by and the first anniversary of her lost friends life is also when Rowena is stripped of everything, even her own identity has been taken away from her leaving her a cold shell that barely even recognises herself.
Years go by..Survival is her constant companion, freedom is a fond memory that she clings to in the dead of night.

The longer time went on, the farther away I drifted from life; from an identity.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Biding her time she escapes with barely her life in tact, but freedom isn't hers to have just yet, the cards she's been dealt haven't stopped playing with her just yet. Things are going to get even more fucked up, it's around this time she meets Griffin a forensic psychologist, he's just as broken and lost as she is, he's fighting his own demons, blood stains his hands in the name of his brother Jared who kidnapped Rowena because she was witness to a crime he committed.

Survival instinct kicks up a notch and Griffin and Rowena are a force to be reckoned with, together they must get out of the shit hole they have found themselves in. A sit on your edge of your seat adrenaline spiked as you root for these two to get their HEA.

Holy Sh#t!! I’m sitting her mouth open, reeling over what I’ve just read, I feel like I’ve been run over by a Mac truck and pulled through a hedge backwards!!
This book is not for the faint of heart, it’s dark, gritty, raw, disturbing, my mind is all over the place, this was one f#cked up read!!
Even through the darkest of times love won the battle, but it took a long time to get us to that place, chaos, mayhem, murder, kidnapping, it all went down in a fast octane ride of pure darkness. Brace yourselves for one crazy ride!!

’WHEN ASHES FALL’
Is a full length Romance Novel by Marni Mann. Spoken in multiple Perspectives. This does flit from ‘Past’ (Dylan’s POV) to ‘Present’ (Alix’s POV and Smiths's POV)

Rest assured this is a safe book for ones whose hard limit is cheating, none whatsoever occurs in this book. You are safe to go..

Go in blind, sit back and let the words of this author engulf you, a poignant story that cut me to the core, sit back, grab some tissues and let this author carry you on this beautiful gut wrenching story.

Going into this I didn’t know what to expect, but only a few chapters in I could feel anticipation racing through my blood stream, there was just something niggling at me in the background, something that would give me a massive jolt, I knew something profound was going to come at me because I could feel the build up. It was like building up a puzzle from scratch, piece by piece, chapter by chapter as we piece these characters stories that were somehow interwoven together.

This was no easy feat writing up a spoiler free review. Or even writing up a review for this one for that matter, over half the book I didn’t know where the author was leading me, though I did have an inkling what this was about and could say it was similar to a popular old movie which I can not name because you'll know the plot then soooooo my lips are sealed. We're all kind of left in the dark trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together, trying to work out where they all fitted, not really knowing what was happening or how it was all going to end and it’s not until you near the end that it all becomes clear.

And it was at that point that I realised nothing could prepare me for this book
In life I’m not a crier, but this book right here had tears pouring down my face.

An emotional journey of moments
A celebration of ☀️ {sunny} days

This was so beautifully written, I even forgive this author for making me cry.
