TITLE: Raine's Haven
AUTHOR: Shari J. Ryan
GENRE: Contemporary Romance
RELEASE DATE: February 22nd, 2017
Haven
I felt like I was living in a prison while watching Raine Carson from my window, studying his sexy, tanned, and muscular physique for six long months. From inside of my house, he was perfect.
Then I found out everything looked different from afar. Raine, a blunt and hot tempered man was living a life he wasn't proud of, and I found myself oddly attracted to the sickening reality he opened my eyes to.
Raine
She thought I'd fall for her seductive ploy and scarlet-glossed lips. She was right. Every person in this small town had something negative to say about Haven Leigh's life—the girl who had been handed everything on a silver platter. I ignored the rumors, and instead, searched for her truths.
While struggling with disabling side-effects left behind by my coke-addict mother, Haven became the hope I needed. She was the good I wanted to be.
But, as it turns out, she was the trouble I should have stayed away from.

RAINE'S HAVEN: This is spoken in ‘Dual Perspectives’
Raine Carson was informed at an early age from his doting grandfather that his mother struggled with substance abuse when she was carrying him and even though she was informed of the dangers that can occur whilst carrying a child, the drugs had too much of a hold over her and she chose those above all else. Which in the end took her from his life.
Haven has alway felt like she’s imprisoned within the walls of her parents doing, every Saturday for the last six months she’s been given lustful glances to their lawn boy from her solitary bedroom window.
I’ve stood at this window every week for the pas six months that he has been mowing our lawn, watching and waiting for him to notice me. We have made eye contact twenty-three times, and he has smiled at me twenty-one times.
High school dropout Raine is down on his luck and really doesn’t have much going for him, to offer a girl like Haven what she deserves, for him life consists of either mowing lawns or starving and living on his friend's couch, until even there his luck ran out, losing his mother at the age of two, a father in prison and his grandfather passing away five years previously this is what his life has come to.
I’ve been busting my fucking ass to put my life into some kind of working order for the past five years. And I’m not going to stop trying.
Figuring the coveted glances weren’t enough she brazenly strips down to her bra and panties in front of her bedroom window knowing that there was no way he wouldn’t be able to see her. And she’s right!! He sees her alright!! A brief chat ignites an attraction between them, that same day he bumps into her at a bar he frequents on the other side of town where she states that she’s out celebrating her eighteenth birthday with some girlfriends, him being twenty-one there’s not that huge of an age gap.
From then onwards their budding friendship blossoms.
Even though Raine tries to fight his attraction towards her she pulls out the big guns and what should’ve been a night to remember turned into his worst nightmare.
Then the story jumps to SEVEN YEARS LATER This is where all the feels double in impact, lies are uncovered, Raine also delves more into his past, we finally find out how he went from riches to rags, you could also say this was a second chance romance. Because the one person who deceived him the most was the one that fixed and healed him. A bittersweet romance with a HEA that we all crave, this delivered everyone you could ever wish for. True love heals all wounds.. Definitely a book I would highly recommend.
It has been two thousand, five hundred and fifty-five days seven years. I was the cause of ruining a man's life, and it has haunted me every day since that night.
