Is the first full length dark book within the (Without You) series by new to me author C.A. Mariah
First book of the year baby!! First review written!!
Soooo after seeing this pop up on my GR feed a time or two on here I took that plunge and dived in..The beginning took a wee bit to connect with, a bit cloudy, but it still managed to pique my interest enough to carry on and I'm glad I did. About halfway ish things start coming together as we piece what story is unfolding in front of us.
Well let me tell you, this story had my jaw dropping to the ground. 💣💣💣 were dropped one after the other leaving me flabbergasted in their wake. Just when you think you've got a handle on things and even though it's forbidden as all hell, you carry on until another bomb is dropped leaving me wondering are things going to get worse before they get better?
This was a clusterf💣ck of epic proportions. It's dark, it's gritty, it's emotional, it's all consuming. Here's the thing though, the blurb does not give anything away, it's vague, and a word of warning heed the authors warnings, this is a dark book, it'll push your limits, your boundaries, it's not for the faint of heart. And it won't leave you with the warm fuzzies fluttering around in your belly. But if like me you don't have limits enjoy this sick wee ride the author sets you on.
Amira has gone through the unthinkable for the last three years, secluded away from prying neighbours and surrounded by woodland, nobody can hear her screams of terror.

I can't believe this hasn't popped up on my radar sooner!! Maybe 2024 is the year I read more by authors I've not read before because this series is so so good!!
This was all about the heartache that came along with healing, or trying to heal is the case when it comes to our heroine. She may be free but the demons are still casting shadows on her mind, chasing her every waking and sleepless moments.
Add in the fear of Roman getting taken away from her for his crimes she was always on edge, never truly feeling free.
But to fully heal she has to go back to fight the demons..
This was such an emotional rollercoaster of a read, no matter how broken she was and the lengths she went to push Roman away I still rooted for these two, even though its wrong on so many levels. Love is love.

❀ Faded ❀ Is the final full length dark book within the (Without You) series by new to me author C.A. Mariah. Spoken in dual pov's.
Got a feeling this one is going to hurt 💔 real bad! Ash stole our hearts in the 1st book so I hope he gets his own HEA like Roman did, though I know Ashes path is going to be a rocky one!
Ash met Sage in the first book, when they kind of went on a road trip to save Amira & Roman, probably a road trip she'll never forget as one person never came back. He was attracted to her from the get go and vice versa.
In this we get more of an insight into Ash and the loss over his first love he carries deep within himself as he tries to escape the guilt with booze and pills. Understandably he's spiralling down into a dark abyss. His journey will break your heart as he's got such a gentle, beautiful soul and we all fell in love with him in the first book because that shone through no matter what situation he was facing.

Sage is fiercely independent and has also suffered loss in her life but she's dealt with it in a more productive way than Ash. She works herself tirelessly to the bone, one day job in a respectable diner, the other in a raunchy club at night.
In life it’s hard to pull emotions out of me, I don’t cry at a drop of a hat, but this one got all my tears, such an emotional roller coaster that put me through the wringer and spat me out the other side. This story was heartbreaking, real, and so well written, I’m under this authors spell.
After devouring this series, I really need to read more by this author.
