ღ 𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖 ღ Until August by Emery Rose

𝐓𝐈𝐓𝐋𝐄: UNTIL AUGUST
𝐀𝐔𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐑: EMERY ROSE
𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐑𝐄: SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE
𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍: JANUARY 02ND, 2023

Synopsis

From author Emery Rose comes a story of love, loss, second chances, and redemption.

I fell in love with two men. But fate would decide which one I could keep.

When I met Cruz Vega, it was love at first sight.
He was my forever and always, my port in the storm, my one true love.
Everything was so perfect.
Until a cruel twist of fate robbed us of a future.

Now, I was navigating uncharted territory.
Merely surviving without really living.

Until August Harper.
The hot as hell, tattooed chef swaggered into my restaurant and took over my kitchen.
Then, piece by piece, he claimed my heart, too. That wasn’t enough for him, though. He wanted all of me.

But as everyone knows… when you play with fire, you get burned.
And we are going up in flames.

*This is a stand-alone second-chance, friends-to-lovers romance with all the feels. Although this is set in the same world as the first two books, you do not need to read them to enjoy Until August as it’s a new story, with a new couple and a guaranteed HEA. No cliff-hanger. Contains sensitive subject matter.

My Review

Is s Second Chance Friends-to-Lovers stand-alone romance book by Emery Rose 'Spoken in Dual Perspectives.' In this you'll meet Nicola & August Harper

'𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒔𝒂𝒚 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒍𝒖𝒄𝒌𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆, 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒘𝒐 𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒛𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒆𝒏.
𝑰𝒕 𝒇𝒆𝒍𝒕 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒂 𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒂 𝒃𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈. 𝑩𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝑰 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒌𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒊𝒇 𝑰 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒈𝒐.
𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝑰 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎 𝒃𝒐𝒕𝒉.

This wrung out a few sneaky tears that snuck up on me out of nowhere, some parts were emotional, others parts were beautiful. I loved their second chance at living life to the fullest, to finding love again.

This came full circle, one stolen kiss so many moons ago, '𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒎 𝒈𝒖𝒚 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒍𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒌𝒊𝒔𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒔𝒊𝒙𝒕𝒆𝒆𝒏' to moving on in life, 𝑾𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒓𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒓𝒆𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒊𝒈𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒐𝒏' and reconnecting again many years later.

New beginnings, and saying goodbye, a slow burn which sunk its claws into my heart and never let go.

I don't know if it was just me but I found it hard connecting with our heroine Nicola, maybe a wee bit too judgmental, the hard hitting questions which raised an eyebrow or two, hypocritical in some ways? I can't really put my finger on it.

August had been knocked down a peg or two which had humbled him, which in my eye made him a better man, he'd had it all until one bad decision to save the ones he loved had him losing everything in a blink of an eye. So he had a lot of time to make up for. His character was easy to connect with, I loved watching his growth, the slow bond with his son.
