Is the first, full length, romance book within the (CITY OF SIN) series by author Delaney Foster.
After recently seeing this pop up on my feed a time or two and in a wee bit of a funk, I took the plunge, purchased it, then dived right in.
What I didn’t expect was to finish it in one sitting. So yes this was shamelessly inhaled.
I loved their journey, where the introvert girl falls for the extrovert guy and vice versa. The night they officially spend time with each other is the night which irrevocably changed her life, she became under the radar without knowing it.
It was as though I was wrapped up in a warm blanket, cocooned in the feels, enjoying the way the author was paving their paths, first loves, living together, until not long after being the adrenaline junkie he was he couldn’t settle into the life his father wished for him and instead joined the marines, leaving her alone for weeks, sometimes months on end, luckily for him she was used to a life of solitude so keeping herself busy was a lifesaver.
The night he’s released of his duties of serving his country and becoming a full fledged civilian in the blink of an eye things take a turn for the worst.
Then we’re thrown into HIS pov, not her boyfriends POV but a side story which interlocks with hers.
Rest assured though, there is no cheating in this story.
I really enjoyed this, was easy to get into, was easy to connect with these two love birds, everything on the surface was perfect. But underneath all that you could feel something sinister brewing away in the background.

Makenna is slowly finding herself, a new job as a medical assistant at an emergency care clinic, and used their savings to buy her first home, a home where she should've been living with Reid. Drinking nightly to erase the hurt, numbing the pain. Simply going through the dailymotions, but not living.
A slow burn, emotional addictive read, loving this series and everything this author has thrown at me.
The push and pull on my heart. This series is allconsuming, and so addictive, and I'm so glad I took the chance and picked this series up, and even glader that I'm reading it back to back.
Cal is hot and cold, and she's still in mourning, He knows that to keep her safe, she has to be off limits because there's a war brimming in the background and he's the one that lit the flame when his mother died.
Dancing around each other until he can't stay in the shadows, but to claim her is putting her in danger. A danger she is unaware of, but she does see the black suv's hiding, watching in the shadows. Watching her.

Is the final full length, romance book within the (CITY OF SIN) series by author Delaney Foster. This picks up right where the previous book left off. This is the continuation of Callisto & Makeena's story.
As soon as I closed out of that last page on the previous book and without taking my next breath, I jumped right into this one.
To keep their city safe, and both out of danger, there is going to be a war. You can feel it brewing. And still Makenna has no idea who is sleeping beside her at nights. She's oblivious and living in her own little bubble, when it comes to him. Blind to how dangerous he is, blind to how others shrink within themselves when they clash eyes on him.
I loved stepping back in time where he had to reveal to Makenna where their journey actually started. His only hope was that once he truly revealed every side of himself to her, that she'd still stand beside him.
In regards to this series, and the genre, I did expect it to be a lot darker than it went, but overall it was still a solid 4 star series read throughout. I enjoyed her growth, from a young teenager in love where she shared all her firsts, to a woman alone, struggling to find her feet, all though her journey was up and down her strength shone throughout.
I'm so glad I took the time to read this series, and back to back like I did made it that much more enjoyable. Definitely a series I would recommend.
