Synopsis
The sun gives life. It is also capable of profound destruction.
With little warning, a solar super flare erupts from the sun. A billion tons of superheated plasma hurtles through space toward Earth…
When all lights fail, who will save you?
Thirteen-year-old Shiloh wakes with a dead body beside her, her brother missing, and no memory of what happened. As fiery northern lights blaze across the sky, she sets out into the night, determined to find him.
Haunted by the past, Undersheriff Jackson Cross vows to catch a vicious killer. But every clue he uncovers leads him further into a darkness he fears he cannot defeat.
Eli Pope has just been released from prison. Wrongly convicted of murder, the former Ranger has but one goal: exact vengeance upon those who betrayed him.
Meanwhile, Search-and-Rescue first responder Lena Easton begins a harrowing 1600-mile journey to Michigan's Upper Peninsula to find the children of the one person she couldn’t save.
As multiple solar storms strike Earth, transformers explode, the power grid fails, and communication networks collapse. Half the world goes dark, thrusting the planet into utter chaos.
With society crumbling around them, the survivors must fight not only for their lives, but for everything they hold dear--hope amid devastation, justice in the face of depravity, and ultimately, the perseverance of the human spirit against all odds.
The Light We Lost is a post-apocalyptic survival thriller exploring the destructive power of coronal mass ejections. This brand new series from USA Today Bestselling Author Kyla Stone features flawed characters and high-octane, nerve-shredding thrills.
My Review
'T𝐇E L𝐈G𝐇T W𝐄 𝐋O𝐒T' Is the first full length book in the (LOST LIGHT) series by author Kyla Stone Spoken in 'dual perspectives.' 'C𝐇A𝐑A𝐂T𝐄R𝐒' Elli Pope, Jackson Cross (Deputy Sheriff) Shiloh Easton, Lena Easton (Aunt)
I’ve only recently discovered this author, due to inhaling one of her other series and loving it, I wanted to try another book/ series by her, so I chose to start this. I’m so glad I discovered this author.
This pulled me in right away, the storyline with the twists and turns and a strong willed teenager kept me engaged till the end.
With little warning, a solar super flare erupts from the sun. A billion tons of superheated plasma hurtles through space toward Earth…
This kicks off with a bang, thirteen year old Shiloh wakes up beside her dead Grandfather at the family's salvage yard with blood on her hands, and her brother is nowhere to be found.
Shiloh needed to find her brother. She couldn't stay here, she knew of one place her brother would likely go to, and somewhere the authorities would never find her.
With evidence stacked up against Eli Pope and no other leads he'd been incarcerated for eight years in a high security prison for killing Shiloh's mother (Lily), a crime he did not commit, nabbed as 'The Broken Heart Killer' but was released due to a technicality.
Thirty six year old deputy Jackson Cross had been secretly in love with Lily, Shiloh's mother his entire life, until the day she'd been murdered, he'd even arrested his best friend Eli for killing her.
Lena walked away from home years ago leaving behind her niece and nephew with her father, in hopes he would treat them better than his deceased daughter and her. Now she's been asked to come back home by Jackson to help search for Shiloh and Cody who are missing persons on the case he's working on.

'𝐓H𝐄 𝐃A𝐑K W𝐄 𝐒E𝐄K' Is the second full length book in the (LOST LIGHT) series by author Kyla Stone Spoken in 'dual perspectives.' 'C𝐇A𝐑A𝐂T𝐄R𝐒' Elli Pope, Jackson Cross (Deputy Sheriff) Shiloh Easton, Lena Easton (Aunt)This kick starts off exactly where the previous book left off, and like the previous book the focus is on tying up loose ends in a cold case murder and other cases left unresolved.
Like an unfinished puzzle so many twists and turns are fired at us like missiles, loose ends, pieces not adding up, just when you think justice has been served and the cases have been sealed shut and resolved another curveball comes at us..Which I am here for.
Lily’s murderer is still walking amongst them, and Jackson is determined to get to the bottom of it and throw cuffs on the perpetrator.
Something wicked is coming their way, ters before they get better, things are going to get worse for these characters cartels and a bus load of escaped convicts are headed their way.

'𝐓H𝐄 𝐇O𝐏E W𝐄 𝐊E𝐄P' Is the third full length book in the (LOST LIGHT) series by author Kyla Stone Spoken in 'dual perspectives.' 'C𝐇A𝐑A𝐂T𝐄R𝐒' Elli Pope, Jackson Cross (Deputy Sheriff) Shiloh Easton, Lena Easton (Aunt)

This kicked started where the previous book left off.
Threats are escalating towards these characters
Shiloh and Lena have been driven out of their safe haven where the lighthouse gave them peace, to having to move where a group of survivalists reside.
And cold case of Lilys murder has finally been resolved allowing Shiloh and Lena to rest easily knowing that justice was finally served. It took all of Jackson’s manpower to finally get to the truth, setting him on a path he didn’t want to believe.
As one threat is put to rest the Cartel are close on their tails seeking revenge and these guys don't take prisoners, they shoot to kill, woman, men, children even the elderly. This is going to become one clusterf#ck of a bloodbath.
Like the previous series I’d read recently by this author, so far these two (Lena & Eli) have only shared a few kisses never crossing that line into more. I’m curious to see if this carries through to her other books as well.
This series has kept me riveted to the pages, the authors storytelling and her ability to keep me focused and glued to the pages has cemented my love for an author I've only just discovered. Pulling me in effortlessly, throwing curveball after curveball leaving me completely blindsided and making me enjoy this series wholeheartedly.

My Review
Each book in this series is over 1,000 pages long but I seem to be reading them as though they are only a novella.Romance books have become monotonous for me, I was finding myself floundering and hitting bookfunks because nothing unique was pulling me out of them so I had to branch out and try something new. And this series/author is the something new, she's reinstated my love for reading again.
This series was inhaled in a week, and definitely pulled me out of a funk I’d found myself in. I’m definitely going to be working through the rest of this authors books, this certainly won’t be the last.
These characters “Eli, Shiloh, Lena, Bear, and Jackson” had me sitting on the edge of my seat more than once, biting my nails, trepidation running through my blood stream. This series kept me on my toes.
