I have been in love with Shepard Thorne since I was twelve.
He’s my best friend’s hot older brother, and I am the weird redhead who low-key follows him everywhere. He’s soccer’s bad boy, and I am stuck in a dead end job, serving drinks at the local strip club.
Our paths aren’t meant to cross.
Until one day I catch him getting a lap dance at the club and jealousy makes me ruin his fun.
Now he’s made it his mission to make my life hell and no matter what I do, there is no escape.
Everywhere I turn, there he is, waiting for his payback.
He threatens to kiss me one second, and choke me the next.
He promises to bring me to my knees and make me beg.
What started as a little harmless prank turns into a twisted game of blackmail that’s toxic but oh-so-good.
But it has to end.
Because I have a secret...
That ties me to my tormentor in an irrevocable way, and if he ever finds out, it will wreck everything I now crave.
Even his revenge.
Note: This is a STANDALONE set in the world of Bardstown.

I seriously haven't read a book by this author in a few years, I've loved her previous books, so I'm excited to get back on the saddle and dive back into the world she creates..I'm glad I took the plunge and jumped into this, this wrung out all those angsty stabby feels I seek when it comes to this genre and this author delivered it flawlessly.
After reading and devouring this I'm definitely going to take the time to read the previous books in this series.
He claims he saw her first, but ask her and she claims it was her that *coughs* stalked him first, either way before the other was aware of each other once they clapped eyes on the other they were bound to become more at some point. The tug of war, the push and pull these two had going on was my kryptonite, I live for that thrill.
I honestly didn't connect with Shepard Thorne in the beginning. After losing his girlfriend to his twin brother and off his game to the point of losing everything he'd worked so hard for, his world was crumbling down around him.
Then add in the toxic way he treated Jupiter, I didn't think he'd redeem himself but with more pages and chapters under my belt I came to love him, he cared more than he let on for the ones in his corner, especially when it came to his siblings, then throw in Jupiter (his sisters best friend) and and her sister Snow all his walls came tumbling down, layer by layer.
You saw a softer nurturing side of him evolve, the taking control and obliterating any obstacles which stood in the way, he destroyed me in the best way possible.
Jupiter was one tough cookie, but when it came to her sister Snow and the lengths she went to protect her was so endearing and heartfelt, because she went above and beyond for her when a mother should've been the one to take care of them.
