Just like these character adrenaline junkies forever chasing that high, I too couldn't get enough of this action packed story..
This was such a unique story which pulled me in straight away, though like another reader I also had to question if this was a standalone, as there were gaps which always had me questioning if I was missing something..
The boys (Wilder, Merrick, Way, Logan & Aiyaret) explore every inch of the world as one big wild wandering family, leaving nothing but memories of every place they have visited behind. Maeve will fearlessly jump into any situation head first, she was such a strong character and easily relatable. She used to travel the world with her father until he was diagnosed with MS so now it's just her recording her findings alone.
Now onto their next mission to discover a lost city on an island in the middle of nowhere shrouded in superstition and supposedly cursed. Their competition, Maeve has also been given the same opportunity by Venture Enterprises as the boys to find it. So it's a race to see who uncovers it first..This island has gone decades without anyone knowing of its existence, until recently, when a storm washed up a man onshore. A man who doesn't eagerly open up about his experience on that island.
The island that they're thrust onto changed their lives forever, that island created such a bond between them all, without having each others back some would not have made it off that island alive, though they all didn't come back unscathed in someway..It's not until they leave the island that whilst they are all in the same place recuperating from their near death experiences that things between them all start heating up..Each man brought their own unique side of themselves in this story, a strong bond forged in family.
