—MY REVIEW—
'AGGRO'
Is a full length suspenseful romance novel by authors Coralee June and Carrie Gray.
This book was a pleasant surprise, I didn’t expect to be pulled into the nitty gritty murder of her best friend, I didn’t expect the twists and turns that popped out of nowhere, and I didn’t expect to inhale this one as quick as I did.
Their relationships were messy
Guilt, friendship, love
Being a cover whore I went into this thinking that the main focus would be on the hero as that is what the cover is making us believe, but this is the heroine's story, and how she deals with losing her best friend, and her relationships with the two special boys in her life.
We get a front row seat into the intricate emotional mystery surrounding one island girls death and the three people who were tethered to her that are left spiralling in her wake as they try and make sense of what happened to her, try and connect the dots and uncover her murderer, grief bonding them as they seek answers. We see each of these characters floundering each shouldering guilt as they push through their grief wanting justice to prevail for Violet.
Breeze is the girl who hid in the shadows, shy, beautiful and is best friends with vivacious outgoing Violet. Their friendship never made sense. One the life of the party the other a wallflower. Breeze had always had a crush on Chase, Violet's twin brother which spans many years but has never acted on it. Violet is in a toxic relationship with Kai, they were always making up and breaking up. Kai was what the islander's termed an Aggro, an aggressive surfer out on the waves taking chances where many others wouldn't.
This was a gripping, emotional story centered around lies and deceit, murder and mayhem, sadness and grief, but under all that darkness a beautiful natural relationship started taking form. Twists and turns, and a heart stopping ending had me begging for more.
