'HEARTBREAK LOVER'
is the second full length romance book in C.R. Jane's 'Broken Hearts Academy' duet. It picks up where the first book left off. Spoken in 'dual perspectives.'
PHEW HOLY CRAP..I wasn't sure I would survive this book..This author pulled out all the stops leaving me obliterated in her dust! She threw everything she could at us in this book.
After the way that cliffy ended in the first book Heartbreak Prince once this landed on my kindle life was put on hold and on tenterhooks I tiptoed in. This was one book which I was highly anticipating. I couldn't wait to see how this was going to pan out. This duet was such a surprise, and wow what a crazy ride it turned out to be. So many angsty moments, so many emotions, so many swoony moments, so many twists and turns came at me out of nowhere leaving me reeling in their wake.
Twin brothers Jackson and Caiden and Everly the girl that they both love are now all attending Rutherford Academy. A solid friendship since they were eight years old, until it became more. Caiden had never attended their school but he became a legend first and foremost for his sports prowess then the years he lost and lastly for his remarkable recovery, though he doesn't have much recollection of the night where everything changed.
Caiden's come out fighting, he won't accept that Everly and he are over pitting brother against brother. She's one brothers soul mate, she's the others obsession. Jackson and Everly have a soul crushing all consuming love that burns in the background, but Caiden is always there always trying to get in between them and claim her as his.
Poor Everly just couldn't get a break, I wanted to wrap her up in cotton wool and protect her from everyone who wanted to cause her harm. Her time on campus was a living hell, from her roommate, to a boy she used to love wanted a piece of her. Punch after punch she had to get back up and shake herself off, she was such a likeable resilient character that we could all connect with.
'Heartbreak Lover' was utterly unputdownable and unpredictable in every sense of the word. It's not your typical bully romance book. It's insanely addictive and all- consuming.
Great review, hon! Everly sounds like my kind of heroine :)
