GENRE: MM Sports Romance

SYNOPSIS
Life can be hard and it can be cruel. Thrusting single mothers into hardships and then leaving them to watch as their children struggle, only to fail.
I couldn’t become that statistic, I needed to push myself beyond my limits, and rip my family out of that mold. Forcing myself to be better, do better, and letting my body take the brunt of those efforts. All I could see was that endzone and what it would mean for my impoverished family.
Just when I think I’ve made it, thinking that all the blood, sweat, and tears were worth it, I’m slapped back into reality. No grass is greener, no matter where you are, and no amount of money makes you a good person.
Love is not kind and if it’s not conventional, it’s disregarded. Secrets born from shame and anger nurtured from hate, blend inside my heart.
How can love win when everyone wants it to fail?

MY REVIEW
BLUE 42:
Is the first full length sports MM romance book in the series 'Hail Mary,' by C.A Renee. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'
I’ve only read a handful of MM romance books, but something just pulled at me to sign up for this and I’m so glad I took that leap! This effortlessly pulled me in straight away, it’s darker and grittier than I would’ve expected but that just made me love this story more, that slow burn ached, that cliffy had my heart rate spiking! This was such a beautifully orchestrated book, and I’m definitely signing up for the next instalment!
Dixon: An up and coming star on the football field, a rookie who demolishes the grounds to get to the end game. He's got one goal in mind and that's to go as far as he can to give his hard working mother and younger brother a better life, one where he's not going to get dragged in the gutter with the gangs that run their neighbourhood.
Sebastian: Is a seasoned football player. He's got one huge chip on his shoulder concerning Dixon, he taunts him constantly and he's going to take him down any way he can, and he does in the most despicable way. He also finds what his weakness is. His brother.
You can feel the hatred simmering away in Sebs veins, it chases us on the pages as we read, but like an onion this guy has many layers and for me he stole the show, he worked his way in my heart and I fell hard.
Their too and fro, their confusion over what's happening between them, slowly starts combusting whenever their close and they struggle to keep it at bay.

Neither of them has had one iota of attraction towards males in the past, so when these two clash lips its violent, toxic, it's filled with hate, it's hard and rough, but their chemistry is off the charts. The angst will have you sitting on the edge of your seat.
