❥ 𝐀𝐑𝐂 𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖 ❥ THE GRUMP WHO STOLE SUMMER BY ELLA FIELDS

TITLE; THE GRUMP WHO STOLE SUMMER
AUTHOR; ELLA FIELDS
GENRE: ROMANCE | SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE
PUBLICATION: JANUARY 7TH, 2022

'Synopsis'
USA Today bestselling author, Ella Fields, returns to contemporary romance with an all-new angsty enemies to lovers standalone.

I never meant to hurt her.
Okay, so that might be a lie. The truth is, I just... panicked.

My soul died when I was fourteen, and there was no reviving it. But when the one person who’d tried made headlines, got dumped by her Ivy League college, and was forced to work in my bookstore, I began to wonder if I needed it when my heart beat faster at just the sight of her.

I began to wonder if I’d been wrong to push her away three years ago, and if she was as I’d hoped and feared—different. If maybe, she could truly accept a guy like me.
All of me. Every vile, cruel, tattered piece.

First, I had to find out a few things.
Would she still smile and laugh when I said something acidic?
Would she still melt beneath the pads of my inexperienced fingers?
Did she still want me as much as I wanted her?
And finally, could she ever forgive an undeserving prick like me?
Something told me I’d regret not finding out.

Told in dual POV, The Grump Who Stole Summer is a full-length standalone, enemies to lovers second chance romance. It contains some sensitive subject matter.
'My Review'

📚 THE GRUMP WHO STOLE SUMMER 📚
Is a full-length standalone, enemies to lovers second chance romance. Told in dual POV. Flits from Past
 to Present.
This was one of my most highly anticipated books, I love when this author delves into this genre, as I’m not into fantasy which she’s been dipping her toes into lately so I was excited to jump into this one as it felt like coming home from being away for so long. And she didn't disappoint!!

You can't help but feel those butterflies fluttering as they swooned over the asshole that is Smith, he was cold and distant, damaged and a hermit but boy did he pull on my heart strings. And the perfect person to pull him out of the darkness was our heroine Alice.

Charles Smith was darkness molded by angelic hands,
every piece of him living perfection,
a beauty unrivalled but engulfed with too much trauma to tame.

With a few too many indiscretions under her belt twenty-one year old Alice and the privileged life she'd become accustomed to had swiftly been taken away from her with conditions.

A curfew and a job where she will be volunteering at a bookshop per her mother's request wasn't the worst of it. Those she could handle. But what she couldn't handle was who she clapped eyes on. The grumpy devil himself. The one person who broke her heart, three years later she's still reeling from the aftershock of not being able to put it behind her.

The last time I'd seen him, I'd been a wallowing angry mess.
I'd shared my heartache with him.
He'd shared his whiskey and cigarettes with me.

As per usual in true Ella form she weaved her magic bringing me a slow burn with an attitude of heat, the only thing that I would've changed was the ending, I wanted to stay in that happy bubble a wee bit longer as I felt like it had been too rushed. Or maybe it was me that didn't want to say goodbye to these two characters.

  1. With how much you obviously enjoyed this one, I'm wondering what stopped you from giving it all the stars. Hmmmmm... I still haven't really dipped into this author and I'm wondering if this standalone would be a good start. Another amazing review, luv! 🌺
