A few chapters in and I already had that feeling that this was going to put me through the wringer. These two have been best friends from the day they were crawling, to the day they could talk and there on in, he was her knight in shining armor when kids would tease her in high school, due to her mother's fall from grace. To protecting her, looking out for her, always her rock through thick and thin, best friends sharing birthdays, sharing the good times and the bad times.
She knew at the age of fifteen that what she felt for Duke wasn't just a crush, her feelings delved much deeper, but she knew they weren't reciprocated.
He was always there..For her to land on...
Until his passion in life, serving his country took him miles away from her. They still managed to keep their friendship alive by writing to each other weekly.

I loved these two, from childhood besties to so much more. All the feels! Inhaled in no time at all. I loved this more than words can say.
