My Review
I went into this completely blind, the first few chapters grabbed me, like GRABBED GRABBED ME, then I reach his POV and I'm like damn wtf am I reading because it threw me for a loop, * Note to self WATCH THE LITTLE MERMAID * LOL!! Double note to self read all the symposis!!
This is a retelling of the 'Little Mermaid' with a little twist thrown in for good measure.
Being that this is a genre that I NEVER READ I kind of really liked this book, SHOCKER!! Like enough to read the next books within the series. So it was unique to me, pulled me in straight away and kept me fully engaged in the storyline throughout.
After losing her childhood everything Skye had a lot on her plate, add on raising her wee boy alone as best she could, juggling school and daily bullying I'm surprised she kept it together as well as she did.
Throw in the next best thing to the love of her life whom died, his best friend Elliot was the one who stepped up and stood by her through all the hurdles life threw at her. Together they were both grieving Brady in their own ways.
Then we can't forget about Ian (Caspian) he's what makes this story interesting, he's the newcomer to town and for a while he's had his eye on Skye and nothing or nobody is going to get in his way. This guy has many layer to him and I can't wait to delve deeper into his story.
