My Review
Holy heck where to even start....Hmmmm...This guy is a possessive, manipulative asshole and he'd be the first to agree with you!!
He's no knight in shining armour that will wrap you up in the feels, he's the type of guy that your mother's warn you about.
He's possessive, demanding, toxic, he was king of the school with many minions bowing down to him and doing his work, his love making was switched to rough leaving bruises marking his territory, there was nothing gentle about this guy.
Now and then you'd see a soft side peeking through the murky clouds but then in the next breath he'd disappear, and we'd see the cold heartless guy shining through. He walks the line between predator and psychopath. This was a bumpy turbulent ride, with hate and love running side by side.
Now onto our heroine, she was the target right from the get go. A malicious dare to break her down and spit her out. Her life was far from easy, no time for friends, no time to be just a normal teenager, she was isolated by choice because her time was spread thin, with school work and a job what time she did have spare was spent with her mother.
When it came to Dare she wore rose coloured glasses, she'd heard all the rumours about him, but when he set his sights on her he made her feel special. And there were times where he was very attentive and I softened towards him but then he'd sabotage it before I could stay in that bubble he'd blindly created.
Often I'd wish she'd walk away, she had plenty opportunities and I would've loved to of seen that chase, because she was in his grip and he wasn't going to let her go easily.
Ok so all in all, I did enjoy this, some scenes were above questionable but it's not real life and I could enjoy it for what it was, fiction written by the one author who will push your boundaries like no other.
Leave your morals at the door, heed the warning at the front of the book and go in blind.
