UNSAFE HAVEN: Is a Romance novel by best selling Author Bella Jewel in this short read we meet Jade and Oliver.
Twenty five year old Jade is a reserved quiet female who offers her time at the ‘Sanctuary’ because she’s a survivor from an abusive toxic relationship so because of that she’s withdrawn and aloof around the opposite sex.
The man I fell in love with very quickly changed, revealing layers of possessiveness, controlling behaviour, and abusive tendencies.
The Sanctuary is a safe haven for both sexes who’ve been through something abusive or traumatic they come to the Sanctuary for the support and advice they seek.
She’s drawn to Oliver the handyman at the ‘Sanctuary’ whose been helping out for the last few months but other than a few stolen glances his way she’s too shy to approach him.
That’s all about to change when they are teamed up putting halloween decorations around the place when the ‘Sanctuary’ puts on an adults Halloween party.
I wanted to talk to you, but you always looked away when I made eye contact so I didn’t figure you wanted to talk to me. I didn’t wan to freak you out, so I let you be.
Strange things start happening around the place but the actual night the event happens things take a turn for the worse, someone is out to cause havoc and bodily harm to the party goers. She seeks solace with Oliver in a storage cupboard and things get slightly heated with between them.
I expected a little but more than what I got in this book and that basing on what the previous books have brought us in these short standalones. I was expected a little bit more grit especially with it surrounding a halloween story. But it still made for an enjoyable quick read.
