🍃MY REVIEW 🍃
'NOT WHAT I EXPECTED'
Is a full length stand-alone contemporary romance novel by Jewel E. Ann

I don't even know how to go about writing up this review, just saying it was brilliant isn't enough, so true to real life issues each woman would've encountered at some stage in their lives, so easy to relate to, and oh so true with with how stay at home mother's are perceived. They don't get paid, their days don't finish when they lay their heads on the pillow each night, many will go through their never ending lists of what they may have to do the next day, like a hamster on a wheel a woman's job is repetitive it's always done under cover, like a super hero, raising kids, looking after their husbands, making sure the household runs smoothly, their jobs are endless.

When all those little things over time which had built up with our heroine in her marriage of twenty-two years and four grown teen children, started escalating into a rocket ready to be launched had forty two year old Elsie reaching her breaking point, making her speak up out of the blue stipulating to her clueless husband that she wanted a divorce.

She wanted more out of life, she deserved more. And we've got front row seats as we see Elsie take her first step out into the world as a free woman.

When thirty year old Kael Hendricks a new comer arrives in the small town of Epperly and sets up shop across from the speciality store which has been in Elsies family for generations adds stress and unneeded competitiveness as her store is barely staying afloat as it is. She despises him but setting eyes on him and seeing how closely he resembles 'Captain America' only with a beard has her like all the other females in their god faring small township secretly lusting after him.

Kael is a free spirit who lives in the moment, he's never been in love, he's never been in a relationship, he's never wanted to be tied down, he's also so selfless, he'll give anyone the shirt off his back, he'll go out of his way to lend a helping hand whenever needed and everyone loves him even though all his good deeds have the opposite effect on Elsie. Sparks fly, an unbridled attraction is unleashed, and sexual endeavors are in secrecy as they tip toe around the gossip mongers and single woman throwing themselves at him.

This comes fully loaded with Jewel E Ann's quirky humour, the giggles flowed freely. the feels came quickly. This author is unstoppable, her stories are always beyond unique, she pulls you in so effortlessly with her magical story telling making me come back again and again just to read her words, to fall in love with another one of her books is effortless.
